The Russell Springs Christian Church
was organized in the year of 1913 with 12 members. The building was purchased from the Northern Methodists by Dr. John D. Combest and Mrs. Tina Wells. H.B. Gwinn was the first minister with services being held
once a month. After a few years of part-time ministry, the church decided to go to a full-time ministry for the first time. In March of 1960 the church called Carroll L. Egnew.
Brother Egnew served as the minister of the Russell Springs Christian Church until September 2004.
